NBC Palm Beach (South) Masterplan

PALM BEACH (SOUTH) MASTERPLAN

Masterplanned Communities + Open Space

Sym Studio were engaged by Northern Beaches Council to develop a masterplan that responded to the council run community engagement process and community concerns. The masterplan main aims were to Improve aesthetics, function and access and adopt a “less is more” approach with minimal interventions and high quality materials and finishes that are sensitive to the iconic Sydney landmark destination.

Client: Northern Beaches Council
Project Role: The process was initiated by Northern Beaches Council. Sym. Studio’s role was to translate community feedback directly into masterplan design moves that considered pedestrian access and safety, traffic movement, wayfinding and ecological concerns related to sand dunes reshaping and revegetaion . Sym provided a vision statement, masterplan, and landscape report with design guidelines to inform the future documentation process. Successfully adopted August 2017.

CCC Cessnock Cemeteries Masterplan

CESSNOCK CEMETERIES MASTERPLAN

Placemaking & Community Visioning / Masterplanned Communities + Open Space

Sym Studio were engaged by Cessnock City Council, in collaboration with Studio GL, to undertake an engagement process to support the development of masterplans for the two largest of councils twelve cemeteries and Guiding Principles that will inform the development of the remaining cemeteries within the Local Government Area (LGA).

IWC King George Park

KING GEORGE PARK

Sym Studio were engaged by Saltwater Studio Architects to collaborate on a masterplan for King George Park in

Rozelle for Leichhardt Council. The landscape design was orientated around the new state of the art amenities building with the key brief asking for an upgraded entry sequence, parking, landscaping and accessible pathway to the new building.

Project Role: The process was initiated by Northern Beaches Council. Sym. Studio’s role was to translate community feedback directly into masterplan design moves that considered sports programming, sport field design & orientation programming, maintenance storage and access, security concerns, CPTED, universal access, pathways, grading, soft and hard landscaping. Sym Studio were involved from concept through to approvals and construction documentation.
